Hot Melt adhesives are 100% thermoplastics materials that liquify on heating, solidify on cooling and capable of holding 2 materials together.
The main advantages of Hot Melt Adhesives are solvents free, quick bonding and long shelf-life.
The important features of EVA Copolymers in Hot Melt Adhesive technology are that they are readily compatible with:
Tackifying resins, which provide adhesion
Parafin and waxes, act as diluents and modify adhesive viscosity.
EVA Copolymers are also used in wax blend coatings. It modifies waxes, with excellent barrier properties, but being brittle, are normally unsuitable for flexible packaging.
