EvataneĀ® Benefits & Features

  • Flexibility

Due to high VA content, Evatane® - Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymers - enjoy a reduced crystallinity. As a result, Evatane® has a high clarity, softness, a good stress cracking resistance and impact strength and an improved flexibility even at low temperature.

  • Compatibility

Evatane® is a polar Copolymer. The polarity allows a good compatibility with other polymers and a large range of row materials for Hot Melt Adhesives such as tackifiers, waxes and plasticizers.

  • Adhesion

Evatane® copolymers are commonly used for film and sheet extrusion either as tie layer (mainly for PS and PP) or as sealing layer due to their excellent hot tack properties. Evatane® (VA content >40%) is also used for printing inks to promote adhesion to the substrate.

  • Resistance (Kerosene, Flame)

Kerosene resistant: For Airports runways, PMB (Polymer Modified Bitumen) with EVA are use to enhance the kerosene.

Flame resistant:  The high polarity allows an excellent filler acceptance and for this reason Evatane® and Lotryl® (EDA………) are both commonly used materials for manufacturing of HFFR cables. HFFR cables based on Evatane® or Lotryl® have optimised flame retardancy and keep good mechanical properties.
