Evatane® Key Points
|
Structural Properties
Key characteristics:
Comonomer content: 18 to 43% by weight
Melt flow index: 2.5 to 800 g/10mn (190°C - 2,16 kg)
The properties of Evatane® Copolymers mainly depends on two factors:
Molecular weight and Vinyl Acetate content
Molecular weight affects the properties of EVA copolymers in the same way that it influences those of Polyethylene and many other polymers.
The progressive inclusion of Vinyl Acetate in the basic Polyethylene backbone chain has two specific effects for the properties of copolymers.
When VA content increases, this enduces the following changes of characteristics:
| | Increased | | Reduced | |
| | temperatures with others polymers and resins. | | - Rigidity
Softening Point Surface Hardness

Processing
All traditional converting techniques used for LDPE can also be used to convert Evatane®: Injection moulding, Blow moulding, Blown and cast film extrusion as well as tube, cable and profile extrusion.
Applications
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymers have a wide variety of uses such as:
