Throughout the summer, Arkema continues to assist the French Red Cross regarding life-saving techniques.
On September 8th, Arkema will also be present in Lyon alongside the local Red Cross branch, and will play an active role in the "World First-Aid Day", on Place Bellecour.
Since October 2005, with the cooperation of local branches of the French Red Cross, Arkema has been committed to a program to raise the awareness of over 5,000 people in life-saving techniques within two years. The program is open not just to all company employees, but also to those people living around the 35 industrial facilities run by Arkema and its subsidiaries in France.
As major players of the "chemicals valley", Arkema’s industrial sites have a major presence in the Rhône-Alpes region. Some 900 people have already been trained in Pierre-Bénite, Saint-Fons, Balan, Jarrie and La Chambre (from a total of 2,300 people for all Arkema sites).
Capitalizing on this success, Arkema wants to continue promoting this program, which is open to so many people: the number of those already trained is steadily growing, and already new training initiatives are being prepared for after the summer break.
This partnership is one of the priorities of the French Red Cross, the objective being to increase the percentage of the French population trained in first-aid techniques.
Through this partnership with the French Red Cross, Arkema reinforces its Common Ground® initiative by involving its employees and the people living near its plants in a progress initiative at the service of the community.
